Vocal Music at Kennedy and Felten Middle School

Students in Grades 7-8 are encouraged to go out for Vocal Music.  Students are expected to be at all performances.  In class, students will be required to demonstrate theory and sight-singing skills every nine weeks.  They are also expected to keep a Voice Journal, a music listening guide completed in class that analyzes various vocal pieces from around the world and throughout history.

Participation at all concerts and contests is mandatory.  Excused absences include illness, death in the family, and extreme family emergency.  Unexcused absences will drastically affect a student's grade.  All absences must be reported to the director in advance of the concert.

Concert attire for 7-8 Mixed Choir

Ladies--Plain white blouse with black skirt or black pants.  Shoes should be black flats, no flip-flops, boots, or high heels.  No perfume, easy on the hair spray.

Men--Plain white button-down shirt with black pants, black shoes, black socks, tie (one will be provided if you do not have one).  No cologne.
